In 1952 Boris Lavrenko graduated from the Repin Institute of Arts in Rudolf Frentz workshop. 

He studied of Mikhail Avilov, Ivan Stepashkin, Piotr Belousov, Boris Ioganson.

Since 1936 Boris Lavrenko has participated in Art Exhibitions. 

He painted portraits, genre and historical paintings, landscapes, still-lifes, sketches from the life.

Personal Exhibitions of Boris Lavrenko were in 1972 (Leningrad, Moscow, Rostov on Don), 1986 (Leningrad), and in 1996 (Saint Petersburg).

Boris Lavrenko was a member of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists since 1953. 

The Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1976), People`s Artist of the Russian Federation (1994). 

Boris Lavrenko was a master of art-criticism (1983), professor of Ilya Repin Institute (1985). 

Boris Lavrenko was a Silver medal named by Mitrofan Grekov prize-winner (1980). 

Boris Mikhailovich Lavrenko died in Saint Petersburg in 2000.

Paintings by Boris LAVRENKO reside in State Russian Museum, in Art museums and private collections in the Russia, Japan, France, in the U.S., Japan, China, Italy, and throughout the world.
